Todd Sterlitz
Assistant Coach
sterlitz@comcast.net
Todd was was an All-American swimmer at Allegheny College and he has been coaching on and off for about 35 years since then. This is my 10th year at FAST - previously, he was the head coach at the Valley Points Family YMCA for 8 years. Todd works with all age groups and is I am proud that many swimmers that I have coached have progressed from novice swimming to college swimming and beyond. Swimming is a lifetime sport and the technical skills and social interactions achieved through swimming lead to very successful kids in and out of the pool. He was a distance swimmer and he believes that a distance background can translate to success in any stroke and any event.
He is also very passionate about the governance of our sport. He was te AMS Age Group Chair for 4 years and is currently our LSC’s General Chair. Todd is always happy to answer any questions about the state of USA Swimming.
He and his wife Sandy and own Pugliese Flowers in Vandergrift and Sandy is also a Physical Therapist. He likes to spend some of my free time as a member of the Kiski Area School Board. Both of our kids, Parker and Amara, swim on the team and love the sport. Parker has moved on to swimming at WVU and Amara is a high school senior. We have two cats, Flipturn and Laneline.

Mark’s favorite part of coaching is being a witness to an athletes journey. Seeing them conquer their fears, develop technique, build strength and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding. I hope I can play a part in instilling a love for a sport that will last a lifetime. His interests outside of swimming include spending time with my family and my basset hounds. Mark’s advice to that every bit of effort that you put in, no matter how small, contributes to your progress. Commit to giving your absolute best effort in every practice, every moment of preparation and every meet.

The smile on their face, and the feeling of accomplishment is my favorite part of coaching. Lee enjoys spending time with his wife Jackie and son Rob, and also enjoys riding his motorcycle in the nice weather and snowmobiling in the winter, skiing, working on vehicles and fishing. His advice to our swimmers is to be a sponge; soak up as much information as you can, continue to learn and make yourself a better person. Also be a kind and helpful person in our society.
